Round 4 Judgement

Character 8
A great deal of the story is spent on character development and exposition.  By the time you reach the end, you're left with a strong impression of all that she is and was.

Story 7
The actual story itself takes awhile to build towards its conclusion, but seems to retain only a certain level of depth, despite the flashbacks.  At times it feels like there are more flashbacks and internal monologues than present story.  While it worked well to compound on the characters, it didn't lend itself well to pressing ahead with the storyline.

Art/Writing 7
Given the sheer amount of pages put together for this story, and the time limit on writing it, one can only set their quality limits so high.  These pages were well organized and felt complete, and I would say that for their number exceeded what I'd expect the average artist to do, but the somewhat eclectic use of color dampens the score to me.

Entertainment 4
This story kept my attention to the point where I was actually upset some of the "next" links weren't filled and I couldn't just move onto the next page easily :P
That said, it was quite an adventure to follow and left me with a better vision of all the characters involved and the setting of the Asylum itself.

Character 7
While well written and full of dialogue, towards the end I began to get a sense that there was more to the pasts and personalities of these characters that I wasn't being allowed to see; less because of plottiness and more because it would have taken away from the fast pace of the story.  Sometimes slower can be better!  But see below...

Story 8
The story itself was quite good.  The dialogue may not have done as much character expansion as I wished, but it did serve strongly to press ahead with the plot.  What few cutaways were used lent a strong credence to the matters at hand, and there was a careful insertion of dark comedy that made the instances of the comic swing like a pendulum, so that at now point did I feel like I had fallen into a pit and had to climb out at the end.

Art/Writing 8
The style of artwork worked very well with the characters and scenes involved.  Color is used very sparsely and to great effect, adding emphasis to the scenes in which it appears.  Composition seems strong with a normalized flow of panels.

Entertainment 4
The story hooks quickly and makes it hard to look away, while the interactions of the characters and the ending make me interested in seeing more.
